170 Anniversary Lunch in Waterloo Village
On Founding Day, October 21st, Sisters, Associates, and staff brought 170 bag lunches to the residents of Waterloo Street Village in Saint John. The lunches were prepared by Diane Johnston and her staff at Ruth Ross Residence and filled by Associates Linda Winski, Agathe Joly (visiting from Edmonton), Sisters Margaret MacLean, Muriel Buckley, Rosemary Costley, Monica Guest and Irene Buechler.
They were delivered to the parking lot at the Cathedral and handed out to residents in the Village. It was a fitting day to end our anniversary year~ providing food on the original grounds where the Sisters, who were known then as the Sisters of Charity of Saint John, began inĀ a tiny house provided by Bishop Connelly in 1854.
